Description:

The soviets had been trying to spread communism as far as possible. The Soviet Union had been supporting Mao Zedong in the Civil War in China. Jiang Jieshi had been fighting Mao, Jieshi supported by the U.S.. Mao was highly a communist, and the U.S. believed that at the fall of Jieshi, Mao would spread communism farther through China. Mao did not overpower the Jieshi and renamed China the People's Republic of China.
