3 avr. 1948 - The Marshall Plan is implemented
Description:
Due to the destruction of WW2, Western Europe was left in shambles: food shortages, low fuel, no medical supplies, and brutal weather. Secretary of State George Marshall disclosed the Marshall Plan. He believed without the strength of Europe, there would be no peace. Congress sent this plan to around 14 million, severely relieving Western Europe. The Marshall Plan even tried sending supplies to Soviet satellite sites, but Stalin did not allow them to collect them. This plan helped the U.S by increasing trade and stopping the spread of communism.
