Description:

Originally called English Classical School before changing to English High School in 1824, this was created to be a free secondary school with the purpose of kids not planning to attend college. Many schools at the time modeling after this one began to pop up because of the competition of academics and the public opposed to tax-supported schools. Like the other schools before it slowly critiquing and adding to the education system we have today.
