A fan asked if that was the day “Home” was written, and Louis favorited the Tweet. People magazine published an article that included the following information: While Liam Payne said “Home” (available on the “Perfect” EP) is the most meaningful song for him but demurred about exactly why that is, he revealed Tomlinson – who is expecting his first child with ex Briana Jungwirth next year – tapped into his emotional side while writing and recording. “Having seen different things he’s gone through and different stuff this year – and obviously I’ve written a lot of songs with him – he can really get into that sensitive mindset to write songs, which is pretty cool,” said Payne. The song has been noted for it’s switch from the gender-specific pronoun “her” at the beginning of the song to the gender-neutral “you” later. Many fans believe it is about Louis coming to terms with his sexuality and his feelings toward Harry. There are also many parallels between this song and “If I Could Fly,” written by Harry around the same time.
