Description:

Section 28 was apart of the Local Government Act saying that local authorities should not promote or teach in schools "homosexuality as a pretended family relationship". Thatcher even addressed it in a speech saying "Children are being taught that they have a inalienable right to be gay".

This was a push away from the post war liberalism the Great London council under Labour giving gay and lesbian groups loans.

This led to many LGBTQ campaigns but the Section was only abolished in 2000 in Scotland and 2003 in England.
