1 janv. 2006 - Another round of peace talks results in the Darfur Peace Agreement but key rebel groups refuse to sign. Sudan rejects UN Resolution 1706, which would call for a UN peacekeeping in Darfur. The Sudan Government says the African Union must leave when their mandate expires, at the end of the month, this raises fears of a continuing war.
