French sociologist who is considered one of the founding figures of sociology. Durkheim's work focused on understanding the role of social structures and institutions in shaping human behavior. He developed key sociological concepts, including social solidarity, anomie, and collective conscience, to explain the ways in which societies maintain order and cohesion. Durkheim's perspective is often associated with functionalism and his work group dynamics, social influence, deviant behavior, conformity, obedience had an impact on social, organizational, and cultural psychology (Schmaus, 2010).
