1 janv. 312 - Defeat of Maxentius
Description:
After a reported apparition in the sky and a dream that came to Constantine, the Chi-Rho symbol became the unifying symbol for all who followed Constantine into battle against Mexentius on the Battle at Milvian Bridge outside of Rome. Mexentius had become the Augustus of Western Rome, but after Constantine defeated him, bearing the Chi-Rho, Constantine became the Augustus of the West where he established religious freedom for Christians with the edict of Milan in CE 313.
