Description:

Whilst there were previous multifunctional mobile phones, the iPhone propelled a number of factors, and multiusage, of a portable phone.

It combined; email, music, internet browsing etc. It also created a device which could be easily controlled using touch. Of course touch technology was about before the iPhone, but sometimes clunky e.g. using a stylus.
