7 oct. 1763 - Proclomation line

Description:

The Royal Proclamation of 1763 established a boundary line along the Appalachian Mountains. The proclamation line established a ban on colonial settlement to the West of the line. After the French and Indian War the line was used to give Native Americans designated land. Colonists were unhappy with this law because they had just fought a bloody war only to not use what they'd fought for. Some elite colonists like George Washington thought the law was temporary and only to please the Native Americans so he along with other elites bought land to the West of the line.
