1 mai 1767 - Townsend Acts
Description:
The Townsend Acts were a series of acts passed by parliament that imposed a tax on a variety of goods including glass, tea, and paper. These specific items were chosen because they would be hardest to produce by the colonists who were beginning to make their own goods. In retaliation to the Townsend acts the colonists led a boycott on British goods and began smuggling goods into the colonies.
