1 janv. 1650 - Britan's first order of tea (late 1600s or early 1700s)
Description:
The Dutch East India Company places its first order for tea to be imported into Britain. This company established itself as the dominant trading power and would go on to monopolize the tea trade with China.
They traded British woolens and Indian cottons for some tea leaves, porcelain and silk. Tea leaves soon became the single most imported item recorded in British documents.
