Martin Luther posted his Ninety-five Theses against indulgences on the church at Wittenberg, Germany. It stated what he thought was wrong with the church and also his beliefs about salvation. Martin Luther was a devoted Catholic until the church started indulgences. The Catholic Church said that Indulgences would forgive sin. Indulgences were paid with money in exchange for forgiveness from the lord.
