This Korean song by PSY about the lavish style of living in Gangnam, Korean became the first music video to hit 1 billion views. For a Korean langugage music video to be the first, despite music industry being dominated by western society globally, was quite the suprise. It also essentailly set up two quite popular bases in current society ; KPOP and viral dacnes. This was the first taste that the world got of K - POP and paved the way for K - POP to become the global billion dollar industry today. Furthermore, a major factor to why it was so succesful was also due to the catchy dance seen in the MV. It could be said that it has also paved the way for the current ways of Tik Tok dances and the use of social media for marketing purposes;
