1 juin 1774 - Special Mention: The Quartering
Act of 1774
Description:
Very similar to the last Quartering Act, it required the colonies to house and supply British soldiers. However, instead of the colonial legislatures being allowed to choose, the Governors were given that power. The soldiers were often housed closer to where they were assigned and more buildings were sed to house troops. Again, the act didn't allow soldiers to be quartered in colonists' homes.
