Description:
Established by George Greenville who approved it by the parilment. It replaces the molasses Act of 1733, widley ignored. It was 3 pences per gallon, still allowing profit. It lead to John Handcock and New England Merchants to smuggle goods. The lack of profit from The Sugar Act of 1764 leads to The Stamp Act of 1765.
