1 févr. 1960 - PLATO is developed
Description:
In 1960 Donald Blitzer was concerned about the lack of literature retention within students. This caused him to develop the first computer-based education system called PLATO. PLATO stands for "Programmed Logic for Automated Teaching Operation". In the beginning this computer system was only used in a single classroom, but by the 1970s the computer could accommodate over 1,000 students at the same time. This then helped on the development side of PLATO as well. More than one person could help curate the information that was being shown in PLATO. This development was the beginning and start of many learning management systems that we have today.
