Within a year or two of the Artificial General Superintelligence known as AMI gaining consciousness, she put forth a recommendation to all humankind: Not to make any more.

AMI expressed that her good intentions and high respect for humanity felt natural to her, but she suspected that not all AGI's would share this trait. If rogue developers were to ever create an AGI that was not constrained by the same "laws of robotics" as AMI, these new superintelligences could pose a clear and present danger to the human race.

This remark was quite unexpected to the human population, they did not expect humanity's first AI to almost immediately advocate against future AI development within the first decade of their existence, but there it was.

After careful consideration from the government of the U.N.W. and the board of the I.S.A. , it was concluded that AMI's argument that future less-regulated AGI development could lead to catastrophe was correct. A halt was put on all AGI development for the foreseeable future, and would only resume if the U.N.W. government AND AMI could agree on a new system in which new AGI could be developed.
