Description:
The eastside of Los Angeles was made up of a large Chicano population, however, the schools had a lack of resources and underqualified teachers (Britannica. (n.d.)). A social protest occurred in March 1968 where thousands of Mexican American high-school students walked out of classes in LA, protesting for equality in the public education system (Britannica. (n.d.)).
