25 avr. 1953 - Double Helix DNA

Description:

Watson, Crick, and Rosalind Franklin
THE DOUBLE HELIX
APRIL 25TH, 1953
In the race towards the structure of DNA, Linus Pauling proposes a triple helix with the bases on the outside. But James Watson and Francis Crick know he is wrong, as they have the X-ray data that Pauling lacks.

On 25 April 1953, Nature publishes the study in which Watson and Crick propose a double helix with a sugar-phosphate chain and the bases paired inwards, opening up the possibility of a copying mechanism.
