Description:

Philip was instrumental in spreading the gospel throughout Greece, Phrygia, and Syria.

According to the Acts of Philip, through a miraculous healing and his preaching Philip converted the wife of the proconsul of the city. This enraged the proconsul, and he had Philip tortured and then crucified upside-down, from which Philip preached until his death.
