Description:
The Afghan communist Government was fighting anti-communist Muslims. They were losing badly, so their ally, the Soviets, helped. The government was cruel and unpopular. The US saw this and gave support to the anti-communists. This ultimately ended with a stalemate and Afghanistan returned to its nonaligned government.
