The 54th wanted to enter the lands of Fort Wagner, successfully scaling the brigades, but the Confederates were already ready, causing the 54th to have many casualties, forcing themselves to withdraw, but the Confederates, not sure of the attacks, organized for siege operations in order to reduce the fort. 1515 deads of Union
