In 1961 Peter Benson worked tirelessly to free two Portuguese students who had been arrested for raising a toast to freedom in England. His efforts has an amazing response from the world as newspapers published his article all over the world. This event had a lasting effect on the world as it lead to the creation of the organisation Amnesty which accomplished many things. This event's impact is extreme as it lead to the creation of a huge organisation. A lot of people were for this event as Amnesty fought for human rights.
