Description:
The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was formed on April 4th, 1949 by the United States and her allies. The alliance was formed in an attempt to keep the "western" and "democratic" countries post-ww2 together in one faction, and to provide the US with a means of holding close democratic countries away from the Soviet Union.
