8 mai 1945 - WW2 and the United Nations

Description:

The Second World War brought on a lot of "imperial responsibility" for the United States. America had not extinguished fascism at the end of the war, they had internationalized it. America had heavy involvement in the war, and in its aftermath would cement itself as the new leading imperial power. Territorial holdings in the pacific, the puppet governments established in Japan. South Korea, West Germany, and more would paint a new dawn for the American Empire. The photograph shown in this event, was taken during the Japanese Surrender aboard the U.S.S. Missouri, in which General MacArthur, Admiral Nimitz, and others signed a peace deal with Japanese military officers.
