8 nov 1856 - J.J. Thomson
Description:
Thomson was credited for the discovery and identification of the electron, and thus, the first subatomic particle. Prior to his discovery, many thought that the smallest particle ever was the atom, so the discovery of something so much more smaller was probably shocking to most. His discovery revolutionized the theory of the atom, it made a great leap towards fully understanding atoms by finding a piece of how they work and what they are made up of. His atomic model was nicknamed the plum pudding model, or cookie dough model.
