Description:

After years of peace and isolation, Woodrow Wilson and the US congress enter the nation into the Great War (World War One) upon intercepting the Zimmerman Telegram. Woodrow Wilson was an extension of american imperialism in the executive branch of the United States government, because he pulled America into its more imperialist tendencies again, by drawing the country into an imperialist war. Wilson himself said in a speech in an appeal to the american people, "The effect of the war upon the United States will depend on what American citizens say and do" (Wilson, 39) saying that the war's burden is on the American people, and not the powers of the United States. The "Wilsonian Intervention" also refers to Wilson's contribution to 'world peace' with the 14 points and the League of Nations, as well as his statements about the war being good for the US economy and welfare.
