Viet Minh: independence alliance formed by Ho Chi Minh. They fought to achieve the Democratic republic in Vietnam.

Guerrilla war: war fought by people who are not part of a government's military. Many hide and ambush in small groups or hide in trees.

This was the first Indochina war using the guerrilla style war. Viet Minh finally takes control of North Vietnam. The French were defeated.
