8 juin 1919 - First pop up toaster
Description:
In 1919 the very first pop up toaster was made. It was created by Charles Strite. And in 1921 he was fully recognized for creating this machine. This desighn is very important becuase bread is such an important food that so many people use. This invention helped find a way that could make bread more easily and quicker. In 1913 the Copeman Electric Stove Company introduced the “toaster that turns toast,” a device that eliminated the need for the bread to be turned manually halfway through cooking. But only in 1919 was the idea finally made. Though in 1909 it was being thought of. What inspired Strite to make the toaster was becuase often at school the toast there would be burnt. Origianlly it was called the toastmaster which helped him win an award in 1921 for it. This machine has helped shape the future of food and the future of making it.
