Also known as the Babi Yar massacre, on this day the extermination of somewhere around 34,000 Jews began. This tragic massacre spent the length of 2 days. This event was so very important in the timeline of the Holocaust because it showed how deadly and cruel the Nazi party could be in a limited amount of time. This event also showed the Allied Forces how powerful the Nazi party was.
