Relativity Media has settled with its former chief communications officer David Shane, the public relations executive who helped the company through the ups and downs over the previous years as well as through its bankruptcy proceedings before following a stream of other executives out the door. No terms were revealed, but Shane had brought a $600K claim against the company he once worked for.

Shane is a well-known communications executive: he worked for Relativity for four years and before that ran the West Coast office for Hiltzik Strategies (one of his clients was Relativity). Prior to that, he served as senior communications officer at ICM when Jeff Berg ran the talent agency. Since leaving Relativity, he has opened his own shingle, Shane Strategies.

To say the guy earned his money in his communications role is an understatement. The ever-loyal Shane had to juggle the news of multiple executive exits as well as press calls from outlets across the country prior to and throughout Relativity’s bankruptcy proceedings, after which he was let go. He filed with the court for payment on Jan. 29 and was terminated less than a month later. Then in April, Shane filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court. With this settlement, all matters have now been resolved.
