The attack Pearl Harbor was very planned and not good. It sunk some of the U.S. Navy ships and broke parts of many others of them. The cause for this attack was the U.S. not being happy with Japan's aggression toward China. Taking over part of China and expanding their military and taking over parts of the world. They declared war on China resulting in the Nanking Massacre. U.S. officials did not like this and as a result placed embargos and other things resulting in oil, and other essentials for the Japanese being taken away. This was a very big deal as the Japanese military needed oil to run their army. They wanted to scare the U.S. into taking off their Embargoes and giving them oil. Pearl Harbor was a very easy target for the Japanese to do this. This was because the U.S. had predicted that an attack would not take place in their own states and an entire 4000 miles from the Japanese mainland. Pearl Harbor was a sitting duck. The plan for the Japanese was to bomb the Pacific fleet of the united states. They came in guns blazing. Or my like bombs blazing. Blowing up, and shooting everything that moved. At the end of it, every U.S. battleship was sunk or severely damaged. There were more than twenty-five hundred casualties. This is the effect that Pearl Harbor had on the U.S. in this decade.
