Spector, issued a retraction to ABC News on Tuesday, August 16, clearing up former comments made in a statement that was released shortly after the former couple reached a reported $7 million settlement. In Spector’s initial statement, she and fellow lawyer Joseph P. Koenig expressed that Heard, 30, had been “vindicated in the Public Court of Opinion.”
However, Spector insists that her statement was given “without the knowledge or approval” of her famous client.
“The statement is untrue and we retract it, without qualification. My assertion that Amber Heard has been vindicated in the court of public opinion is not true,” Spector told ABC on Tuesday. “We regret the error and apologize to Johnny Depp.”
As previously reported, Heard and Depp, 53, settled their divorce on Tuesday following months of allegations by the Magic Mike XXL actress against her estranged husband.
