Description:
At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, the Great War ends. Germany was so close to invasion that they signed an armistice with the Allies. What lead up to the events of the signed treaty was what really tipped the scales for the Allies. When the infusion of American troops in the western front appeared it had sealed the deal. The Treaty of Versailles was what gave Germany the consequences. All of this laid the groundwork for WW2. The treaty forced Germany to surrender colonies in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific. They also had to cede territory to other nations including France and other places like Poland. They would also have to reduce the size of their armies, pay for preparation in Allied countries, and accept that they were guilty. The Allies and the Central powers were those that were involved in WWI. WWI was so important to American history because it led to changes in culture politics and society. It also set the path for WW2.
