W.E.B. Dubois vs William Monroe Trotter (both co-founded the NAACP)
Dubois encouraged followers to support and join the war. He thought it would prove African-Americans’ loyalty and heroics and move along racial justice.
Trotter didn’t think victims of racism should support a racist gov. Encouraged followers to dodge the draft.
Dubois’s view had more support.
