Apr 30 Several bombs are intercepted in the first wave of the 1919 United States anarchist bombingsJun 2 Since late April, anarchists in the US have been mailing bombs to politicians and officials, believing that blowing up a few people will change the world in the direction they prefer. Eight of these bombs explode, creating injuries but no deaths. The result will be an intensification of the Red Scare.
