Description:
The Oregon (ship) was in the Pacific ocean (near Oregon) and was called into battle in Cuba. It had to travel around South America (go south of Argentina). It never made it to Cuba.It exposed a need for a canal because it showed w/out a canal, the US would need to keep 2 navys (one of each coast).
