5 févr. 1894 - Pullman Company Strikes

Description:

A company town = a town set up by a company where most of its workers lived. They offered cheaper rent (it was subtracted from paychecks) but had stricter rules (ex. No drinking). Also: some company towns had company stores that used fake money called scrip.

Anyways: Pullman cut wages but didn’t lower rent. Workers went on strike, the military ended it. (the military ended so many strikes because the business owners were often large donors).
