The Credit Mobilier of America company, ran a fraud scheme from 1864-1867, in which the U.S. government lost $44 million, through overcharging for railroad construction costs and expenses, bribing top officials and manipulating contracts.Grant's vice president was found to be in on it and had to resign.
Represents how Grant's cabinet was corrupt.
