Description:

Goal was to remove Natives from Georgia (to the other side of the MS River) so that Americans could mine the gold there.

Some tribes complied, but the Cherokee Nation brought it to the Supreme Court who ruled in favor of them; Worcester v Georgia. However, Jackson ignored this ruling and sent military to transport Cherokees; "trail of tears" = 15,000 were taken, 4,000 die on the trail (starvation, disease, freezing).
