Description:
In April 19, 1906, an earthquake of 7.9 shook San Francisco to its core. In the Mission District, because many houses at the time did not use liquefaction, their foundation was quite unstable and caused devastating outcomes. Also, a number of fires erupted throughout the city but specifically in the Mission District. This caused a number of local residents to become displaced. As a result, the usage of fire indoors was prohibited.
