Description:

US passes this law as a response to the poor condition of immigrants arrive; many were treated poorly and like cargo on their ships. One of America's first attempts to restore transatlantic travel.

This caused more immigration as immigrants would be treated better, while effecting a series of immigration laws, being among the first.

CHANGE: America enacts immigration laws for the first time.
