1 janv. 1912 - The Titanic hits an iceberg in the Atlantic Ocean and sinks
Description:
In the year of 1912 the ‘unsinkable’ Titanic sunk in the Atlantic Ocean, killing over 15 hundred people. This British ocean liner was marketed under the single catchphrase, unsinkable. The immeasurable irony of this tragedy is still felt today, and it was the reckless actions of the ships captain and the designers, that brought the ship into a huge iceberg, splitting the entire hull in two. There were not enough lifeboats for all of the passengers and only those lucky enough to not have to swim through the icy waters, lived to tell the tale. After this sinkage, strict regulations were finally added to ensure safety and a correct amount of life boats.
