Description:

The freedom of slaves got limited further through the codifying of their status and the defining of slave owner rights. Non-Christians who were brought to Pennsylvania would also be slaves even if they converted to Christianity. Moreover, slave owners were allowed to punish slaves without fear of legal repercussions.
