3/3 of the laws passed one was on July 2nd 1650
which was
the rump passed a treason act (Act Declaring What Offences)
the purpose of the act was to define and expand the definition of treason in order to better protect the Commonwealth government and its leaders from threats.
The act listed several new offences that would be considered treason, including plotting to depose or imprison the Lord Protector or any members of the Council of State or attempting to re-establish the monarchy.
what all these laws meant was that parliament were able to grow now and make there own decisions and laws without a monarchy it was a big time for England.
