An off-duty police officer, James Lamb, went to Orlando Davila’s home and started an argument with the YLO members. It started an altercation, and Lamb shot Manuel Ramos in the face and Rafael Rivera in the neck. Lamb claimed that he shot them in self-defense because they had high levels of alcohol. He was not arrested or charged with anything
Instead, the 4 lords were arrested for assaulting an officer. This event was crucial in politicizing the members and the community
