25 juill. 1951 - UN Refugee Convention
Description:
The UN Refugee Convention is a treaty meant to aid in the taking in and protection of refugees. It defines who is classified as a refugee and the rights of refugees once they are granted entry in a country as well as the responsibilities of the nations they are granted entry into. Canada's signing of the treaty was an incentive for the country to take a step away from their old, discriminatory policies and look in a new direction.
