155 Tamil Refugees were found drifting offshore of Newfoundland by three fishing boats. The boats dumped their catches and fed the refugees who had just been at sea for days. The Canadian Navy was called and the refugees were taken to shelter and fed as they were processed as refugees. This incident shows a great change in Canadian attitude towards refugees and immigrants from non-European countries.
