-August 13, 1961-A wall built to physically and mentally separate the communists from the capitalists. It encircled West Berlin.
-US and the Soviets were the ones that both owned half of Berlin, then they separated through the wall because their different opinions on government. This was significant to the Cold War because now both the US and the USSR were wanted Berlin for themselves
